Tiel Way
Designed for a renowned landscape architect in River Oaks, the goals of this project where to expand the square footage, while preserving the original architecture designed by Hugo Neuhaus in 1951. We wanted to leave the original house intact with a clear distinction to tell the history of the home yet make a seamless connection between the new and the old. Respecting the scale of the existing home was of importance, and the owner’s wishes to create a private yet open primary suite disconnected from the other spaces to unwind, but visually connected with the landscape and to employ an “Indoor/outdoor concept.”
